School Motto

“A wonderful, nurturing and supportive environment.  My son goes in every morning with a smile on his face.”

Year One Parent

Lyndhurst House has an outstanding history of achievement and exceptional pastoral care.  The boys win places, by scholarship or at Common Entry, particularly to the major London independent day senior schools.  The School takes boys from the ages of four to thirteen.

The School’s approach helps boys build self-confidence, easy, happy friendships and the key skills to discover, innovate and achieve.  The boys have self-respect, respect for others and a very strong sense of commitment.

Individual attention to support academic progress and personal development have always been at the forefront at Lyndhurst.

The School seeks to understand what matters most to each family and encourages parents to visit as early as possible to meet the Head.  It is a privilege for any school to have the care and responsibility of a child’s early education and at Lyndhurst House, this is supported by the close open relationship with parents.

“Pupils are extremely considerate, caring and respectful of each other and all members of their school community.  This is strongly encouraged by positive relationships with staff, firmly underpinned by strong values.”

ISI Inspection Report

The dynamic between exceptional academic education and the nurture and wider development of personality are complementary, and Lyndhurst House has a long record of success delivering this combination.

The School promotes the core values of decency, tolerance, understanding and sympathy and provides a very wide range of opportunities, in which pupils find fulfilment, enjoyment and the chance to excel.

Lyndhurst is a warm, friendly place where boys discover and grow their talents and initiative.

The School develops adaptable and innovative skills, but also helps the boys to understand that some things remain as important as ever: kindness and understanding others’ perspectives; being able to be independent, but being kind to oneself; hard work.  These all matter as much as ever, as does learning to find ways to relax.

In the coming years, much in society and the workplace generally will change radically, and the education at Lyndhurst emphasises adaptability, independent thought and the building of the skills and character, to be resilient at all stages of life.

“His confidence has grown and he has formed lovely friendships with his peers.  We think the staff at Lyndhurst do an amazing job.”
