School Motto

Northbourne Park School is a truly unique independent day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 2 to 13, set in 100 acres of beautiful Kent countryside near Deal. With a strong focus on academic excellence, personal growth and outdoor learning, the School provides a truly distinctive environment where pupils are inspired to thrive both in and beyond the classroom. From its outstanding Nursery and Pre-Prep to the vibrant Prep School and the unique Section Française Bilingue, Northbourne Park fosters a learning environment where every child is valued, encouraged and given the confidence to succeed.

The School’s core values – kindness, respect, curiosity, and courage are lived out by staff and pupils every day, creating a community that is nurturing, joyful, and purpose-given.

At the heart of this ethos is the Section Française Bilingue, where the School delivers an exceptional bilingual education by merging French and English curricula. Pupils graduate with fluency in both languages and are ready to pursue further education in either language system. Beyond academics, the School believes in protecting childhood for as long as possible. Screen time is intentionally limited, and meaningful, real-world experiences are prioritised. Through the Forest School programme, pupils regularly explore the outdoors, developing practical skills such as building shelters, lighting fires, and cooking, all while fostering a deep connection with nature as a central part of their learning and play.

Academic ambition is passionately nurtured through inspirational teaching and personalised support. Whether preparing for the Kent Test, Common Entrance, Cambridge English exams or the CNED programme, every child is empowered to achieve excellent academic results. The School proudly maintains a 93.5% pass rate in the French entrée en 4e and entrée en 5e exams and 100% of pupils passed their Cambridge English KET, PET, and FCE Exams. Northbourne Park consistently surpasses national Early Years benchmarks, with pupils regularly awarded scholarships and gaining places at some of the UK’s most prestigious senior schools, as well as top academic institutions internationally.

Also, the broad curriculum is characterised by excellence in sport, music, drama, and art, providing every child with rich opportunities to discover their talents and build lasting confidence, and flourish both personally and academically.

She is not the girl who she was a month ago, her transformation is totally down to the education in NPS and to the education of the UK which encourages my confidence to send both my kids to have their boarding education in the UK. – An overseas parent

We will be forever grateful for the school’s contributions in nurturing our son’s potential. – A parent
