Millfield is among the pilot schools to offer an exciting new Rambert pathway in contemporary dance
Millfield is among a small number of pilot schools introducing Rambert Grades, a new benchmark in contemporary dance training and education designed to develop emergent talent. Director of Dance and Drama Rhian Fox was among the first teachers trained to teach the new syllabus. She will be working with the school’s dance coach Robert Guy, enabling him to start teaching the programme later this year. The Somerset school also began offering GCSE Dance last September.
Dance coach Robert Guy, who joined Millfield School in September 2020, has a background as a practitioner, working with leading dance companies and choreographers. This includes a spell with Wired Aerial Theatre as head aerialist, as part of Norwegian dance company Panta Rei and with Montreal contemporary ballet company Cas Public, He also worked on the RSC production of Matilda the Musical.
