Dukes Education announces Suzie Longstaff lead appointment

Leading London Head Suzie Longstaff is to join Dukes Education to head up its new London Park School

Dukes Education has announced that Suzie Longstaff is joining as Principal of the new London Park School. Currently Head of Putney High School GDST, she will be the founding Principal of London Park School, eventually establishing a new centre of excellence across a number of central London sites north and south of the river, and a London Park Sixth Form in Belgravia.

London Park School (LPS) is being designed to provide forward-thinking education for 21^st century students. Pupil wellbeing, character education, financial literacy, sustainability and SEND provision will be central to the LPS ethos. It is also planned to include experiences that will bring learning alive, such as immersive programmes in marine conservation at sea and global climate science in the Alps. The Dukes Young Leadership Programme will be an integral part of the curriculum.

Suzie Longstaff will oversee all aspects of the new London Park School, working with the Heads of each setting to promote sustainability, both in practice and in the curriculum, ensure high academic standards and embed the LPS ethos across individual sites. The ethos behind LPS is to combine the scale and opportunities of a bigger school with the community and individual attention of a smaller setting before students can progress to a specialised Sixth Form at LPS in Belgravia.

Suzie Longstaff says: “I am thrilled and excited to be the new Principal of London Park School. It’s not often that you get the chance to rethink and design a school in this way. LPS has the scale, scope and ambition to deliver a truly innovative secondary education for London students”.
