Southbank International School’s Hampstead Campus has gained recognition as an Apple Distinguished School for the second time

Southbank International School’s Hampstead Campus has gained recognition as an Apple Distinguished School for the second time. Integral to the school’s approach is the use of the 1:1 iPad programme, which the school says has redefined the way teachers plan, deliver and assess. This, in turn, has opened up completely new pathways of learning, with students using technology to assist them across the curriculum.

With 41 schools in the UK recognised as Apple Distinguished Schools, and 535 globally, the programme is by invitation only, with Apple Distinguished School recognition lasting for three years.

Shirley Harwood, Principal of Hampstead Campus, said: “To have been awarded this accolade once, was impressive. To demonstrate sustained excellence and enhanced best practice in the use of educational technology through the last few challenging years, is exceptional. I am so proud of the continued creativity and dedication of our teaching team and so delighted that this has been officially recognised by Apple again”.

The Hampstead Campus at Southbank International School teaches children aged 3-11 who follow the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, before transferring to the Westminster Campus at the age of 11, where they study the IB Middle Years Programme.
