DLD College, the independent on London’s Southbank, is to welcome students aged 13+ from September 2023
DLD College London is welcoming Year 9 students from September 2023. Taking advantage of the school’s city-centre location on the South Bank, the new Year 9 curriculum will include an Urban School Project that uses London as a classroom – part of a curriculum designed to engage students as they progress towards GCSE and BTEC pathways.
Central to the offering will be a curriculum which is designed to spark a love of learning and prepare students for the careers of tomorrow while also providing a solid bedrock of knowledge and skills. Alongside the traditional rigours of English and Mathematics, students will also learn about topics such as NFTs and cryptocurrency.
“We’ve collaborated with experienced educators to create a new programme which will keep students engaged as they work towards their GCSEs and BTEC subject selections, says Principal Irfan Latif. “It’s a modern concept which includes content such as Digital Futures, People & Places, Study & Life Skills as well as our unconventional Urban School. Future-proofing our students for yet to be created careers is a buzz phrase in education but at DLD we are really making this happen as part of our mission to be a progressive and forward-thinking school.”
The school, which is part of the Alpha Plus Group, welcomes UK and international students and offers both day and boarding places, with boarding located in the same South Bank building. Boarders are organised by age, with boys and girls housed on separate floors and supervised by designated Houseparents.
