Taunton School has appointed Tabitha Rogers to lead its programme of summer courses, attracting students from over 30 countries
Taunton School in Somerset has appointed Tabitha Rogers to lead its successful programme of summer courses. A teacher by training, Tabitha Rogers joins the Somerset day and boarding school with some eight years of experience in events and academic summer schools.
The International Summer School has been running for over two decades and typically welcomes students from over 30 countries every year. The courses are offered to children and young people from the ages of 8-17 and provide English language teaching, plus a taster of life in a British boarding school. The programme is balanced, so alongside a tailored programme of academic options, young people can enjoy sports, cultural excursions and day trips, including visits to London, Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon, as well as theme parks, beaches and beauty spots.
Students have full access to the 56-acre Taunton School campus, which includes two indoor swimming pools, two sports halls, a gym and fitness suite, climbing wall and tennis and squash courts. There are also numerous sports pitches for formal and informal games, plus a fully-equipped kitchen for cookery classes, a theatre, dance studio and music school. The school has a new Sixth Form Centre (pictured top), opened last autumn as part of a £750,000 investment in facilities.
