Wellington College has announced an agreement with the Unison Group to establish premium schools in India, with the first school located in Pune, Maharashtra. Wellington College International (WCI) is a subsidiary of the College, with six schools currently in the WCI family in China and Thailand educating over 5,000 students. The school in Pune will be a coeducational day and boarding school for ages 2-18 and is scheduled to open in 2023 within a campus designed by award-winning British architects. It will follow the English National Curriculum, culminating in the IB Diploma, and with strong emphasis on delivering excellent teaching in sports, music and the arts. Further WCI schools are planned in India, including a full boarding school.
