Cumnor House has a new Headmaster, plus details of their upcoming open day

Everyone has been looking forward to this school year, but at Cumnor House Sussex there is plenty to celebrate. The new Headmaster Fergus Llewellyn has taken up his post, the nursery is expanding still further and day and boarding pupils have been welcomed back to the school and its 60 rolling acres of Sussex countryside close to Haywards Heath.

Fergus Llewellynwas was formerly Headmaster of St Andrew’s Prep in Turi, Kenya, prior to which he was a Housemaster at Cheltenham. He and his wife Tamsyn have three young children (in nursery, Year 3 and Year 6), so they are also experiencing life from the other side of the school gates. His youngest, aged three, has just joined Cumnor’s nursery, which has mushroomed since it opened in 2017. The nursery offers places to both those children who will be moving on to Cumnor Pre-prep and children who will be attending local schools.

With superb facilities and specialist early-years staff, it offers free flow access to vast outdoor play areas and spacious teaching and play areas inside, plus wrap around care from 7am-7pm.

You can find out more about Cumnor House Sussex – which offers education for boys and girls from ages 2-13 – at its next virtual open day on Friday 25th September from 10am-12pm. The school hosts three open mornings a year and also welcomes pre-arranged personal visits.
