Dukes Education will transform the former MoD building Kneller Hall into an Upper School for Radnor House

Dukes Education has announced the purchase of Kneller Hall in Twickenham and will now transform the grade II-listed former Ministry of Defence (MoD) building into a new Upper School for nearby Radnor House.

With Dukes’ team of architects and designers already in place, the plans are being drawn up for a sensitive transformation that makes the most of its extraordinary spaces and character. The new school will include studios for art, textiles and design, alongside dedicated music and performance areas.

The plans include excellent opportunities for sport, with a new sports hall and redeveloped outdoor spaces, including extensive playing fields, an all-weather pitch and a multi-use games area (MUGA). Other key facilities include fully equipped science labs and cutting-edge design-technology-innovation suite.

The plans for the grounds include an ecological corridor. It is also hoped that the school can build links with local groups so that the exceptional outdoor spaces can be shared and support community activities.

Aatif Hassan, Founder and Chairman of Dukes Education, said: “We are thrilled that through the purchase of Kneller Hall, and investment in Radnor House, we can set even more young people on the path to happy, successful and fulfilling futures. The site is a wonderful local landmark, and we are looking forward to building links with many local and community groups as we progress with this exciting project”.

Darryl Wideman, Headteacher of Radnor House, said: “This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for Radnor House, giving our wonderful teachers state-of-the-art facilities in which to create a truly outstanding educational experience within the friendly, family environment for which we are known”.
