Feltonfleet pupil and swimmer Sophia Samonas had an outstanding weekend at the ESSA Surrey Schools Championship
Feltonfleet Prep pupil Sophia Samonas secured Gold in the 100m butterfly at the ESSA Surrey Schools Championships, breaking the Surrey record with a time that puts her second nationally for her age group and within 0.1 seconds of top slot.
Alongside the ESSA Gold, Sophia achieved three further podium finishes over the weekend in the 50m Freestyle, 200m Individual Medley and 400m Individual Medley.

A standout athlete at Feltonfleet, Sophia has been part of the school community since joining its nursery nearly ten years ago. “We are thrilled to see Sophia achieve success in the pool. Her achievement on the national stage is testament to her incredible talent, dedication, and mental strength,” says Feltonfleet Headmistress Shelley Lance. “I anticipate we will be hearing more about Sophia’s triumphs in the future.”
