Former Harrogate Ladies’ College student Lee Braithwaite is making waves in the film world
Former Harrogate Ladies’ College student Lee Braithwaite is making waves after appearing alongside Academy Award nominees Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh in the film We Live in Time playing Jade, a commis-chef partnering Pugh’s character in a cooking competition. The romantic comedy previewed at the Toronto Film Festival in September 2024 and was released in the UK in January by Studio Canal.
Braithwaite, who starred in many Harrogate Ladies’ productions and left the school in 2019, graduated from LAMDA in 2023.
“Lee repeatedly wowed audiences with performances at school. It was clear to everyone at the time that Lee had something really special even at a young age. Their passion, energy and vibrancy were infectious,” says Head of Drama at Harrogate Ladies’ College Dr Emma Stokes. “Everyone at school is so proud of Lee and pleased to have been part of the journey so far. We’re so excited to follow Lee’s career, and they will always be part of the Harrogate Ladies’ College family.”
