Malvern College pupil Olly Cox was named Schools Cricketer of the Year in the Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack

Former Malvern College pupil Olly Cox was named Schools Cricketer of the Year in the Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack. Cox, pictured below with Jonny Bairstow, was awarded the accolade for his First XI performance at the College in 2022. Olly Cox scored 1,392 runs, averaging 69 runs per innings, including four centuries. He has signed his first professional contract for Worcestershire County Cricket Club.

Malvern College has a long tradition of developing top-class cricket talent. The school’s First XI are current T20 National Champion and the school also appears within the Top 100 in The Cricketer ‘Schools Guide 2023′. The Worcestershire senior has a range of boys’ and girls’ teams from ages 13-18, and with strong links to the county side, as well as Gloucestershire and Herefordshire.

Sister prep The Downs Malvern also offers cricket opportunities for boys and girls, with a full schedule of fixtures for different age groups and aptitudes and excellent cricket facilities and coaching.
