TASIS The American School in England has received the top boarding accolade at the Independent Schools Association (ISA) Awards

TASIS The American School in England was awarded Boarding School of the Year at the Independent Schools Association (ISA) Awards ceremony on 6th November. The ISA Awards celebrate excellence in independent education across the UK and TASIS England was part of an impressive shortlist of finalists, including Cardiff Sixth Form College and Queen Ethelburga’s Collegiate (QE).

Recognising the boarding experience provided by the school, ISA CEO Rudolf Elliott Lockhart said: “ISA introduced this award to celebrate how schools across our membership shape their boarding provision with the wellbeing of young people and delivering exceptional experiences at its core. TASIS England’s launch of their THRIVE programme welcomes pupil voice, proactively identifying issues for young people and enables them to take ownership of their own wellbeing. THRIVE is personalised too, so bespoke support is provided to meet all students’ needs.”

The school described this award as a testament to the unwavering commitment of its 70 dedicated boarding staff, whose work creates a nurturing and engaging environment. It noted that their efforts, coupled with assistance from staff throughout the school, the invaluable support of parents, and the enthusiastic involvement of students, have cultivated a thriving community. Matt Kiely, TASIS England Director of Boarding, acknowledged the work of the residential team. “The trophy is lovely, but the real prize is in being part of an exceptional community of colleagues and students. I extend unconditional thanks to the wider boarding team for all that they do to support our boarding students.”

He added: “The success of our Thrive mentoring program underpins TASIS England’s dedication to fostering student growth, both academically and personally, and guiding them to realize their full potential. We believe that mentorship is a key component of a holistic educational experience, and this award further reinforces our commitment to nurturing every aspect of our students’ development”.
