International survey of woodwork benefits to young learners

A large-scale international survey is examining the benefits of offering woodwork sessions to the very youngest learners

The Big Bang Research Project is a seven-year exploration of the benefits of offering woodwork in education settings to children aged from three to eight. Over 30 countries are gathering data and also submitting case studies to assist with the research.

Peter Moorhouse, Honorary Research Fellow at University of Bristol, is UK contact, and the survey is running until the end of December.

“‘If you make woodwork available to your children (three-to-eight-year-olds) please complete the research survey,” he says. “The data gathered will be invaluable in further promoting woodwork to wider audience.”
