Hanford Year 7 pupil Fleur delivered a stunning performance with her pony at the Shetland Pony Grand National
Hanford Year 7 pupil Fleur won the final of the Shetland Pony Grand National at the most recent Moreton Show. Fleur was also named ‘Rider of the Day’. She was cheered on by her team, Cherhill Shetlands, which races all over the country to raise money for charity. Their chosen charity for the year was the Bob Champion Cancer Trust.
Hanford is a girls’ prep school in Blandford Forum, Dorset. It is known for its ‘Hanford ponies’, giving girls the opportunity to learn the basics or develop their riding skills at competitive level. The Bob Champion Cancer Trust raises funds for male cancers, supporting and raising funds for laboratory research. It is named after the jump jockey who won the 1981 Grand National on Aldaniti while recovering from testicular cancer.
